I found every judge pretty useless except for Streber. It's a decent concept except for chain growth, so a second chain like in other high pivot bikes would be useful. Perhaps a floating brake too. However, this is going to be neither cheap nor light, because to make plates as laterally stiff as tubes they need to be so thick that cost and weight are left behind
I think you'll find hatters will hat
The word you're after is fan
Black and gold crank bros wheels :O
It might be that your chain is new but the rest of your drivetrain is old. Check the teeth for wear. Do as the article says and get the chain length right. Check the chain line and derailler adjustment too. No such thing as too much lube ;)

For those bemoaning 'new' standards, why not take a look at the old ones? 26" is a pretty good size wheel, but it was almost arbitrarily taken on. If you are 6'2" riding a 650 wheel you are in proportion to a 5'10" rider on 26 inch. Add the better traction and bump resistance of a larger wheel and the extra choice makes sense. This is how technology works. This is why cars are no longer on leaf springs and band brakes. And who can argue with extra choice?
Or a first year such as myself. The same first year mechanical engineer could also tell you that there is no innovation in this product! It is an amalgamation of existing technologies and designs executed poorly
